Zyklus zu die <Kindertodenlieder> von Friedrich Rückert

Der Zyklus besteht aus Aquarellen, Gouachen und Tuschen. Die Arbeiten auf Papier beziehen sich auf die <Kindertodenlieder> von Friedrich Rückert, einem über 500 Gedichte umfassenden Gedichtszyklus, den Friedrich Rückert 1834 nach dem Tod seiner beiden jüngsten Kinder verfasste.
Die Blätter verstehen sich nicht als Illustrationen, sondern entspringen, angeregt von den poetischen Metaphern, einem persönlichen Erfahrungsraum und einer eigenen Bildwelt. Der Zyklus hat weder Anfang noch Ende und bewegt sich kreisend um das Thema Tod. Bislang zählt der Block 200 Blätter. Die vorliegende Dokumentation zeigt eine Auswahl von 10 Arbeiten aus dem Zyklus.

Inseparables
is referring to the “Kindertotenlieder” of Friedrich Rückert, a famous german 19th century orientalist and poet. The cycle of the “Kindertotenlieder” consits of nearly 500 poems, concerning the death of Rückerts two youngest children in 1834. In circular motions Rückert is writing about dying and mourning, about the loss and all his rememberances. He describes situations, that are common to everyone who experienced the loss of a nearstanding person and he evokes lots of metaphores. In the same time he is reflecting his own medium, the poetic writing. The “Kindertotenlieder” is, how Hans Wollschläger said, “the greatest lamentation for the dead in the world’s literature”. It is timeless in its emotional concerns, as well as very modern in its formal decisions, the circularity and the medial reflection.
