| The work of Frauke Schlitz has been exhibited in solo and group shows at museums, galleries and art institutions nationally and internationally. Frauke Schlitz received several grants among them a Pollock-Krasner grant in 2023; a Grant from the Ministery of Science, Research and Arts, State Baden-Württemberg in 2021; a grant from Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn in 2020.
Schlitz has been awarded fellowships and residencies including the International Artist Residency of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Seoul, Korea (2019), the John Hargraves and Nancy Newcomb Fellowship at MacDowell, NH (2017); the Visiting Artist Residency Trestle Gallery, NYC (2016); Millay Colony of the Arts, NY (2016); Art Omi International Art Center, NY (2014); Villa Serpentara Residency, Olevano Romano, awarded from Akademie der Künste Berlin; DAAD-Residency for Sardegna. Her work is in private and public collections (e.g. Collection of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Museum Spendhaus Reutlingen).
Schlitz graduated from University of Arts Berlin (MFA). She has taught art at several German and European art schools. She was an Assistant Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart (2000-2006) and taught as lecturer of fine arts at the University of Education Weingarten (2012-2015), as Visiting Artist at the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera in Milano (2006) and at Haute Ecole des Arts et de Design in Geneve (2008).
